Today I took the plunge and baked my first ever chocolate sandwich and I’m pleased to report that it is luscious, moist and mood-enhancingly good. Chocolate heaven.
The recipe I followed was from ‘The Great British Bake Off Learn to Bake’ – a fantastic book if, like me, you are a baking novice.

And now I’m proud to present to you the fully dressed fudgy iced chocolate sandwich:
I COULD NOT wait to dive in. I didn’t let it cool all the way before I cut a slice.
The fudgy icing is highly recommended deliciousness but this chocolate sandwich should come with a warning – after one fairly hefty slice I feel like I do not need to eat for a fortnight!
