My little haven

My garden, a place where I can relax after a busy day.  My little haven.

When I bought my house nearly 14 years ago the garden was a mess – ugly patches of grass, no flowers, bushes, trees, patio or even fences!  I’ve worked hard on it over the years and now when a little gardening leads to a few days recovery (thanks Fibromyalgia!) I can sit peacefully and really enjoy the fruits of my labour.

My first strawberries:

I can’t wait for my summer holidays – a time when I can relax with my kindle and the cats in my little haven.  I’m hoping the sun will visit too :)

Keep smiling!

Well done Claire, I’m still trying to create my own little bit of garden heaven. I can understand how calm sitting in your garden must make you feel. Enjoy. Regards Rosemary( Fibro fighter)

Wow your garden looks lovely..I had the same problem with my garden ..the previous owners didnt look after it…ninety feet of 6 foot weeds and goodness knows…anyway after alot of hard work and eleven years later we have a beautiful garden complete with summerhouse, shrubs.and lots of colour from foxgloves, roses, acwelegias, marigolds plus so much more..I would post a photo but its pouring down with rain…I too have had fibromyalgia for six years and really struggle some days and on top of this I lost my husband to a rare form of cancer in january…I nursed him myself for ten years and miss him dreadfully…ive also just come out of hospital having had a major spine operation as ive got severe spinal stenosis…life is really tough but like you I take peace from my garden and can lose myself in it…well done on yours its beautiful..xxx

      Thanks Mandy :)
Life can be really tough and I wish you a speedy recovery. You’ve certainly been through a lot. Be gentle with yourself.
We can still take pleasure in the beauty of nature, enjoy your garden this summer :)
