Cosy Night In BuddyBox

This weekend I will be playing a game of self-care bingo, followed by a warm hot chocolate in my comfy duvet fort – all thanks to October’s BuddyBox.

The Blurt Foundation is a charity that raises awareness and understanding about depression. The BuddyBox subscription costs £21.50 a month (including UK delivery). It’s a little pricey but I love the surprise of opening my box and discovering the goodies inside.

I love October’s BuddyBox!

The Little Book of Mindfulness (RRP £9.99) – I am trying not to dwell on the past or worry about the future, instead I want to simply be in the present, with the help of the mindfulness meditations in this book. It’s written by Anna Black and is designed for dipping in and out of.  There are lots of brilliant tips on how to find peace and calm throughout the tough wintry months. I especially like the suggestions on letting go of technology.

Braintree Bamboo Socks (RRP £4.90) – I really like that these are eco-friendly. They are lovely and cosy too.

Gnaw Milk Choc Hot Shot (RRP £1.99) – I love my hot chocolate and I can’t wait to enjoy a mug of this tonight.

#365daysofselfcare sticky notes (RRP £3.50) – Today’s self-care badassery will be to: snuggle with the cats and watch a movie.

Duvet Fort Architect Iron-On Patch (RRP £5.00) – now this is a fun patch, I need some serious duvet forting! I just might iron this on one of my t-shirts.

In the first edition of Zine there are suggestions on how I can make my own blanket fort, an interview with Jayne Hardy, the founder of the Blurt Foundation, and best of all self-care bingo for when I’m struggling to decide which act of self-care to do, I simply close my eyes, point my finger and go with whatever it lands on.

A moment of self-compassion can change your entire day. A string of such moments can change the course of your life.

Christopher Germer

It’s time to snuggle and relax…

hugs

I have heard of the Buddybox, though never ordered it. The bamboo socks and a hot chocolate sound lovely (but I tend to avoid meditation or self-help books, not for me, I’m afraid).

  19. This is such an amazing idea for a subscription box, I think a lot of charities could see a surge in funding if they adopted this method of raising awareness and money. I love the items you got especially the mindfulness book which I think we all need at some point, it’s the kind of book that you’d go back to time and time again. Also I’m totally in love with that chocolate hot shot, it’s so novel!
