What’s on your Christmas day playlist?

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas.  Christmas songs have been inescapable this month but unlike those who just want to punch Christmas in the face I actually love this time of year and I’m definitely feeling in a festive mood.

1

Christmas songs evoke special memories of my childhood in Ireland – the smell of dinner cooking, the twinkling of Christmas lights, and the loving warmth of my family.

Here’s my Christmas day playlist:

‘Fairytale of New York’ – The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl

‘Last Christmas’ – Wham!

‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ – U2

‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ – Mariah Carey

‘Merry Xmas Everybody’ – Slade

‘8 Days of Christmas’ – Destiny’s Child

‘Driving Home for Christmas’ – Chris Rea

‘White Christmas’ – Bing Crosby

‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ – Harry Reser

‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ – Shakin’ Stevens

‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ – The Ronettes

‘Mistletoe and Wine’ – Cliff Richard

What’s on your Christmas day playlist?

Keep smiling :)

Claire

  3. Aaah I LOVE Christmas music!!! Totally love all the songs you’ve chosen — although my absolute favourite — that I’ve been playing on Spotify recently — is a Choral Christmas. It’s literally a choir singing Christmas carols and it’s the *most* festive thing I’ve ever heard!!! That’s is what we’ll have on, this Christmas morning :)

I liked Christmas music once upon a time but then I worked in retail. This entire list has been on repeat since 1st November. It’s like nails on a blackboard to me now which is such a shame. I used to love them.

  37. Christmas has really snuck up on us this year! Just so much going on, I couldn’t believe it was nearly Christmas when I really looked at the calendar a few weeks ago. I’ve been enjoying taking my son, who’s finally old enough to appreciate Christmas more, to do festive things. We took him ice skating for the first time about a month ago, too!
